Street Trash

street_trash (0).jpgIn honor of Halloween, I thought I'd post a bunch of screen captures from J. Michael Muro's amazing 1987 film Street Trash, a grotesque masterpiece of independent horror.

street_trash (1).jpg Made when he was only 20 (!!!) the film is nonetheless one of the more polished of its kind and era; Muro has since had a noted career as a steadicam operator -- a seemingly inherent skill on ample display here. The shot composition, perspectives, camera movement and colors are all marvelously vivid, and the makeup is outrageously stomach-turning. As far as I can tell, this is Muro's only directorial project. The cinematography is by David Sperling.
