Movie Review: River's Edge

mr_rivers_edge.jpgNot really any more "realistic" than the concurrent fantasies of John Hughes, River's Edge is at least more convincing in its exploration of the American working class life and the apathy and weirdness it breeds: broken homes, isolation, cheap thrills, no hope, etc. Sort of a scummy, less stylish Blue Velvet. 7/10
