"Promoting and preserving the art of animation..."

sullivant03-big[1].jpgYou have no idea how much it pleases me to thank Stephen Worth over at the ASIFA blog for noting the Al Capp pictures I recently posted. I visit that site regularly and am just as regularly amazed at the beautiful work they make available to the public -- not just animation drawings and history, but also the extracurricular work of animators, and classic illustrations and comic strip and comic book materials. How and where they unearth all of these treasures is a mystery to me, but I'll take every bit of it and thank them for it publicly. It's probably the most inspirational art blog on the net.

Within just the last week they've thrown up dozens of model sheets by Alex Toth, as well as rare work by the practically unknown virtuoso of early 20th century cartooning T. S. Sullivant (left). This sort of quality content is not an unusual occurrence -- I suggest you bookmark the site and tell others about it as well.
